Steve  Murillo

Steve Murillo is a Wichita artist with a studio and gallery in Old Town. He is best known for his public art installations including the Standing Stones in Riverside Park; the Light Towers at Central, McLean & Meridian; the Abode Venue mosaic on east Douglas; the farm implement sculpture at 2nd and Washington; and the neon Shade Structures in Old Town Square; plus numerous indoor murals of which the Larkspur Restaurant paintings, the four story Waterwalk Residents mural, and the Emprise Bank painting in their lobby are most familiar.

 

Steve taught at Wichita State University for 15 years and holds a BFA and MFA from WSU. He was an Artist-Schools-Resident in three locations in the State under a National Endowment matching funds Grant with local Board of Educations and studied in Europe at the Michael Karolyii Foundation.
