SUMMARY:Mila on Display
DESCRIPTION:“Mila on Display” is a group exhibition curated by Anthony Joiner\, owner and director of Mulberry Art Galley! \nThis exhibition is dedicated to honoring Juneteenth and local artists of Wichita. This impactful work was created through unique vision and ambition. \n““Mila on Display” is a tribute to culture. This exhibition gives you a slight glimpse into the world of 6 diverse artists with diverse styles\, all in one place. Although these artists are viewed in a similar light by the city and country they reside in\, their different paths and traditions influence the product of their creativity. As we celebrate Juneteenth and ask ourselves about the question of race in America\, it’s important to understand that there is not a one size fits all approach. Just like the artists in this exhibition have diverse styles\, so do we as individuals. This may make many situations harder\, but that makes the outcome all the more beautiful…” –Anthony Joiner \nFeatured artists:\n-Caitlin Alexander\n-Amy Baber\n-Sheldon Draper\n-Elijah Jacobs\n-Verlene Mahomes\n-Brittany Stewart \nMany of the artworks on display pay homage to the past while also giving a glimpse of a bright future. These expressive creations focus on personal growth\, self empowerment\, cultural pride and connection. \nWe hope you will join us for our reception on First Friday\, June 3rd\, from 5:30pm – 9:00pm! \n————————————-\n“Mila on Display” | Exhibition runs June 3rd through June 25th\, 2022 \n(Note: we have designated parking behind RSG that are marked with signs. There is also overflow parking available behind Traditions – located across the street from the gallery!)

SUMMARY:SYNTHESIS FROM THE SOIL
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening of… \n“Synthesis from the Soil”\nby William Tinker \nExhibition opens Friday\, May 6th 2022\, from 5:30pm – 9pm \nThe artwork on display will feature large-scale\, abstracted landscapes filled with vivid color by William. \n——– \n“The process of aging has caused me to look for subjects to paint much closer to home. For years\, we drove the mid and southwest\, always looking for the perfect curvature of land and trees and sky that would represent the best of where we grew up and lived. \nAlmost always\, the subjects I would chose had as much to do with the things that were growing on the land as the overall beauty of its entirety. \nThis continuous search for subject matter has morphed into a much more localized approached to include my wife’s multiple gardens. I’m amazed at the continuous changing shapes and colors of flowers\, foods\, grasses\, and trees that our large yard provides. \nNo longer using my Nikon with its many lenses\, I grab my phone\, take as many pictures as I please\, and then head for my computer to help form images that I can hardly wait to paint.” \n– William Tinker \n——– \nWe will also be featuring a mini exhibition titled “Imaginary Gardens” by Susan Tinker.\nThere will be a small selection of Susan’s oil paintings on display. Each piece is filled with lush botanical imagery and lively insects – just in time for Spring! \n——–\n“Synthesis from the Soil” by William Tinker | Exhibition runs May 6th through May 28th

SUMMARY:Keyword:
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening of… \n“Keyword:” MFA Thesis Exhibition by Tim Stone. \nExhibition opens Friday\, April 1st 2022\, from 5:30pm – 9pm \nThe artwork on display will be large scale mixed media paintings that explore the current hybrid relationship between our physical and digital spaces! \n“I replicate\, imitate\, and steal digital languages to express how confusing and lost it can be to operate in a world that is both super connected and isolating\, mediated through a screen. The algorithmic ways of processing information through coding and keywords seems rather abstract to me\, even unintentional or misunderstood. \nMy work sutures digital efficiency and painterly inefficiency through physical marks and colors that are rambunctious\, fiery\, and ambiguous in their affect. There is tension between the ordinary and the superlative\, and between what is natural and artificial. I examine how bemusedly liminal our physical and digital spaces have become.” – Tim Stone \n“Keyword:” | Exhibition runs April 1st through April 30th\, 2022

SUMMARY:Colony 39_Randy Regier
DESCRIPTION:This new body of work with be installed in our windows and can be viewed from outside as well as inside. \nTHROUGH DECEMBER. \n  \n“Sometime in the mid ‘80s\, I encountered a vintage Japanese-made tabletop battery powered game/toy at a small thrift shop. I bought it for a couple of reasons\, most notably the lithography and graphics were excellent\, all outer-space themed\, and because the more I examined it the more I wanted to know the people that conceived of and made it. It’s long gone now\, can’t even recall how or when I let it go. But the important thing is I still think of it and wonder what it was\, I never really understood it (it did not work). In a way the enigmatic nature of that piece and the mystery that shrouds my knowledge of it makes it one of my favorite objects. My personal Venus of Willendorf I guess. \nThis “Shokuminchi 39” work is my exploration of the unknown\, the enigmatic\, the experience of both encountering and/or being the other. But it’s also the case\, as the works are revealing to me\, that no matter where we go\, we take ourselves along\, our predilections\, the best and the worst of who we are and what we desire. As my dad told me before we left Oregon years ago to start anew in Kansas\, “Randy\, there are no geographical solutions.” He was right\, but that doesn’t stop us from exploring\, and wondering… \nWelcome to Colony 39. \nRandy Regier \n11/2020

SUMMARY:"LIGHTHOUSE" : Josh Tripoli
DESCRIPTION:First Friday | November 1st 5:30 – 9:00 PM\n“LIGHTHOUSE” : A new solo exhibition featuring Josh Tripoli. \nThe show features a body of figurative work that’s been developed over the course of two years by Josh Tripoli. “LIGHTHOUSE” opens November 1st at the Reuben Saunders Gallery and runs through December 2nd. \nThe idea for “LIGHTHOUSE” originates in the Bible’s\, “bodies are temples” verse (1 Corinthians 6:19)\, which found a creatively compelling analogue in the body as a lighthouse. Light as awareness\, revealer\, a benevolent\, guiding beacon. House a seafarer’s haven\, a return from the wonders and tumults of love\, empathy\, compassion\, joy\, envy\, pride\, violence\, and fear. The relationship between keeper and voyager.  \nJoin us for the opening of this show on November 1st for First Friday at the Reuben Saunders Gallery from 5:30 – 9:00 PM. \nFeatured work:\n“Actor” Tripoli\, 2019\, oil on canvas
