DESCRIPTION:Join us for our First Friday event! \nOpening reception on Friday\, August 5th from 5:30pm – 9:00pm! \nThis exhibition features colorful ceramic vessels and sculptures by Emily Chamberlain along with elegant pottery by Joey Rincones!\n——– \nChamberlain was born and raised in the rust belt city of Buffalo\, New York. She received her Bachelors of Science in both Art Education and Ceramic Design\, as a dual major from SUNY Buffalo State College. \nIn 2014\, she packed her bags to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts in Ceramics at Wichita State University in Wichita\, Kansas! Chamberlain continues to make sculptural work while being an Art Teacher for Wichita South High School!\n——– \nBorn and raised in Southwest Kansas\, Rincones began his ceramic studies at Garden City Community College where he received his Associates in Arts. In 2007\, he pursued his Bachelor Degree at Wichita State University and graduated with a BFA with a focus in ceramic media. \nRincones has stayed busy within the Wichita art community by teaching pottery classes at City Arts\, the Derby Recreation Center\, and participating in local art festivals! \n“Clay is a poetic material\, it is very honest and inviting\, yet fierce and difficult all at the same time. My work is an exploration on how this material evolves into my own expression and how it embodies my own lifestyle.” – Rincones\n——– \n“See Where it Takes You” | Exhibition runs August 5th through August 27th\, 2022\n——– \n(Note: we have designated parking behind RSG that are marked with signs. There is also overflow parking available behind Traditions – located across the street from the gallery!)
