Lester Raymer

(American 1907-1991)  Professional artist and craftsman, Lester Raymer, studied at the Chicago Art Institute. His work was mostly  influenced by great master painters, religious symbolism and folk art.  Much of his work was made from recycled materials and his medium ranged from painting, printing, ceramics, metalwork, woodcarving, stitchery, toy-making, furniture and jewelry.  Much of his work can be viewed at his personal studio, The Red Barn Studio in Lindsborg, Kansas, which was restored and opened as a museum in 1997.
