(1900-1968) Levon West was a pioneer in color photography shooting under the name Ivan Dmitri. He gained recognition as a print maker in 1927 when his etching “The Spirit of St. Louis” was published upon Lindbergh’s arrival in Paris. In 1932 he was named guest artist of the State of Colorado where he did a familiar series of etchings on Western life.
