Gene Kloss (American) was a prolific painter and printmaker. She was the first woman to achieve Academician status from the National Academy of Design for printmaking. Kloss is one the major printmakers of the 20th century with work in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Institution, the Library of Congress and many others.
